Lastnight the second edition of the Redbull Shay’ iMoto competition took place in Germiston on the East Rand of Johannesburg.
10 spinners participated in the seeding round that took place on Wednesday.
Fans were given the opportunity to vote for their favourite spinner ahead of the main event on Saturday.
Only 8 of the original 10 spinners made it into the top 8.
This sadly saw the only two female competitors eliminated ahead of the final.

As an industry first the event was live streamed across Redbull’s platforms.
Despite a few technical glitches the event went off well.
One of the upsets of the evening saw Samkeliso “Sam Sam” Thubane get knocked out of the competition.
Sam Sam struggled with mechanical issues but he still did his best to impress the judges before he was knocked out by Eddie Rasta.
Katra Mokgoshi then faced Eddie Rasta in the final after knocking out reigning champion Veejaro and Cape Town spinner Yaseen Damon.
According to an inside source everybody who enters the comptition is already a winner.
All the participants receive prize money and those that progress further into the competition receive more than others.

Although Katra Mokgoshi was crowned crowned as 2020 Redbull Shay’ iMoto champion,
and he got the biggest share of the prize money, a graceful Sam Sam reminded us that SPINNING IS WINNING!
