Speed cameras in Johannesburg are apparently not operational in the city and have not been for the past year.
This is according to a report by eNCA.
If you have a heavy foot and find yourself always having to fork out for speeding tickets, you might have been wondering why you have not been issued a fine recently.
The news channel reported that all speed prosecutions in the city have been halted since 31 May 2021.
JMPD has said that a tender to repair or supply speed cameras in the city closed earlier this month, and they’re hoping to have the issue resolved by the end of June.
