Rumble in the jungle at Jeff James birthday spinbash was action-packed

Best four performances of the day came from Bareng, Katra, Austin & Sam Sam

On Saturday the 30th of March 2019 we were invited to attend the 8th edition of the annual Jeff James birthday spinbash and the event did not disappoint.

As with previous editions of Jeff’s party, the event in the heart of Soweto was very well attended. The afternoon session left us hot and bothered with the sun glaring down on us.

GOG gardens in Soweto is a unique venue for spinning and with a few improvements they can become the premiere spinning venue in Soweto.

Security and safety were two of Jeff’s main concerns and with over 3000 spectators attending the event, the marshall’s did a wonderful job of keeping things safe.

When it was time for the birthday boy to entertain the crowd he ran into some car problems, but in the spirit of true sportsmanship one of the fellow spinners gave him the chance to spin a BMW E30 powered by a 1JZ Turbo.

Jeff promised that his four headliners would provide us with a Rumble in the Jungle and as the sun started setting the boys came out to play.

Team BGB show up at the event with 7 BMW E30’s

Of course Team BGB had to show up at the event in numbers, and when I say numbers I refer to the 7 BMW E30’s they brought along. Let’s not forget that they also had an entourage with a bus load full of fans. Not that we are surprised by this, if you know Team BGB then you will know that they always show up in style.

Keep an eye out for Team BGB because they are one of the most popular and fastest growing spinning crews in South Africa.

Katra keeps improving everytime we see him perform

This youngster from Polokwane is a very talented spinner and drifter is the son of spinning legend Pux Setsiba. Katra Mokgoshi represents the Northside crew and he developed a very good mutual relationship with Bareng Mpane from Team BGB.

Performances from Katra will not leave you disappointed

Team Austy “Jy kan mos dink”

If you know Skidmarks well enough then you would know that we are fans of Austin Kruger from Maftown. Austin and his stuntman Papi Supermagic always bring that extra touch of excitement to the spinning pitch by performing adrenaline pumping stunts that get the crowd jumping.

We are looking forward to Austin’s spinbash which will be hosted at Mahem raceway on the 29 June 2019.

Sam Sam’s class is permanent

Samkeliso “Sam Sam” Thubane from Hazyview in Mpumalanga is well known for winning popular TV show, So you think you can spin. Unfortunately he was having problems with his car but class is permanent and he was still able to give us a taste of what he is capable of, albeit brief.

Sam Sam is hosted his 21st birthday spinbash at Numbigate spincity on the 6th of April 2019.
